After a fairly even first half saw the boys go into half time at 0-0 however, Tufnell had the majority of possession and chances created. The second half saw Jonah play a through ball from centre back into Joel’s feet who took a touch and shot across goal on the right hand side making it 1-0 two minutes into the second half. A good bit play from Berzan saw a good ball into Joel who slotted home again making it 2-0, unfortunately the two goal lead only lasted two minutes as Camden Town got a goal back making 2-1 with ten minutes to go. Berzan stepped up again with great play in the middle who slotted the ball to Romaro making it 3-1. Just before the final whistle new signing Dalvin saw a shot from the right hand side hit the side netting making it 4-1 to wrap another solid team performance from Tufnell.
An entertaining game on a Saturday morning saw the under 11’s get off to a slow start, conceding early on after a passage of pressure, Joel got us back into the game with a great strike edge of the box which saw the score level after 10 minutes. As the game progressed, things started to even up with WestWay playing direct and looked for runners in-behind whereas Tufnell tried to be patient and keep the ball. A long ball from WestWay saw them go 2-1 up after 18 minutes and an own goal from a corner saw them go 3-1 at half-time. Nonetheless, the second half saw a slow start again from Tufnell going 4-1 down after 6 minutes into the second half, however, as always the great character of this team never goes down without fighting as Joel put in a great cross to Liam back post who headed it home making it 4-2. Another long ball from WestWay saw a two versus two situation on the counter, smart play from them to square the ball edge of the box making it 5-2. Nevertheless, the fight continued which saw Joel involved again passing to Mathew, a good shot from him saw it go past the keepers hand making it 5-3! The fourth goal saw the team press well high up the pitch, winning the ball of the keeper saw Joel dribble towards the goal and scoring making the final score 5-4!
Although a disappointing result, the teams identity is beginning to show with how they try to keep the ball, play out from the back and press from the front, as the weeks go by this will only improve which will then lead to results on the pitch to go with the performances.
